Doc-It Document Management System (Doc-It DM) by IRIS is a complete digital document management solution for public accounting practices from 5 to 500 users. Doc-It DM includes software, training and implementation methodology developed by accountants for accountants. Doc-It DM enables firms to become more responsive and profitable by centralizing all document streams into a secure and searchable library of non-editable PDF files and originals. An extremely user-friendly system, Doc-It DM provides all the functionality of a top-notch document management system. Features include document viewing, annotation, version control, and long-term archiving of documents. Doc-It DM runs on existing Windows servers. The application uses PDF technology to scan and import paper documents. It also manages files originating in popular software applications for accountants such as Word, Excel, Outlook, CaseWare and ProSystem fx. In fact, Doc-It DM will store any “printable” document, no matter the type, in a client-specific folder in a Doc-It Archive. Doc-It DM's security features prevent the accidental moving or deletion of files. The application supports variable security settings. It also provides a complete log of document activity for auditing purposes. Doc-It DM is even works with remote-access applications, such as Terminal Services and Citrix. For searching within the Doc-It DM PDF-based document repository, Doc-It chose the dtSearch Text Retrieval Engine. “We found that dtSearch did the best job in indexing and searching PDF files which is critical to our solution.” With the current version of dtSearch, “it is now possible to have a single document repository of over a terabyte. We also like the flexible licensing policy which reduces our administration tasks.” More information on Doc-It; contact IRIS. |
