NMFTA hired Incept Consulting to streamline the searching capabilities of its online NMFC directory. “Prior to our installation of dtSearch, searches on the existing web-based NMFC directory could take a half or minute or more,” explains Mark D. Spaeth of Incept Consulting.
To speed up searching, Incept republished the NMFC directory in HTML format. Then Incept installed the dtSearch Engine to perform indexing and searching. “With dtSearch installed, search response time is sub-second,” says Mr. Spaeth. “And the server load is dramatically reduced relative to the earlier search system.”
Incept Consulting was also able to add a lot of “bells and whistles” using the dtSearch Engine not previously available for the NMFC directory searches: “Using the dtSearch Engine, we have new search features like the ability to search all sections of the NMFC directory simultaneously. And we have added advanced search display features, like mouse-over page previews.”
